As part of Queen Elizabeth’s historic coronation, amid the elegance and pageantry, ten heraldic statues lined the western annex of West Minster Abbey. Each beast, which stood approximately 6 feet, bore a shield, which was representative and indicative of each branch of the Royal tree and its direct connection to the incumbent Queen. The grand affair was witnessed by more than 20 million people, with the Beasts taking center stage, inspiring a great deal of intrigue. In 2016, The Royal mint of England allowed people to get further acquainted with these mythical creatures, further immortalizing them on meticulously designed bullion coins. The Queen’s Beasts Collection is based on ten legendary creatures symbolizing the ancestry of Her Majesty The Queen.
