The Seahorse is a celebrated creature in Samoan Island culture and can often be found swimming majestically through the tropical reefs of Polynesia. Its curious shape and oddly beautiful horse-like head make it a favorite for artists throughout history. Its image is captured gracefully on the reverse side with an artistic rendering of tropical currents and bubbles flowing beside it as its tail brushes gently against a subaquatic floor of seagrass. On the obverse is the Crest of the Samoan Islands with the inscription “SAMOA 2020” across the top and “2 TALA” across the bottom.
